SC/ST Cell
Date of Formation of the Cell: 03/01/2019
The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell is an initiative from the institution to nurture, protect and promote the interests, opportunities and rights available for all the students, teachers, and staff belonging to the reserved category. The cell may conduct regular awareness programme on important aspects of the rights of SC/ST and other BC community including remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development and other important issues of the SC/ST/OBC student community. The cell is also expected to organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with the members of the aforementioned community to share their personal, social and academic problems.
Objectives of the Cell
- To be an entity that disseminates information related to SC/ST/OBC reservation, implemented in the institute as per Government Policy.
- To provide a platform for registering complaints, suggestions, issues/grievances of the members belonging to the SC/ST/OBC community.
- To continuously monitor, evaluate and implement the reservation policy in the institute and plan measures for effective implementation of the policy and programme of the Government and UGC.
- To guide the SC/ST/OBC students, Teachers/ Staff of the college, to optimally utilize the rights & benefits of the schemes offered by the State Government, Government of India (GOI) and UGC.
Policy Guidelines
The committee is formed under the Chairmanship of the Principal of the institution who is authorized to appoint any member of the institute as the HEI.
The coordinator/Nodal Officer in coordination with the other members of the cell will carry out the necessary activities as specified regarding scholarship schemes/status/account details/students’ performance, and other benefits and constitutional rights of the SC/ST/OBC community members.
The cell will meet and share information when required to educate backward student community about importance of SC/ST Scholarship, Social Rights and motivate them to improve their performance in academics.
