• The Economics department endow Tarakant Ray Merit Cum Memorial Prize sponsored by Ms. Shawli Roy Basu (Associate Professor) to the highest marks awardee in Economics (Honours).

• Apart from this, all the final year pass out students of Honours and General classes are awarded special prizes by the department to encourage them for further studies and preparation for competitive examinations.

The department organizes excursion and academic visit keeping in view the context related to socio economic issues from the syllabus.

• Dept. has an exclusive library for Hons. & Gen. students.
• It includes Text Books, Reference Books & Books for Competitive Exams.
• Books are sourced from specimen copies, purchased from teachers’ personal contribution, purchased from departmental contingency fund & procured from college library.
• Text books & reference books are issued to each of the Hons and Gen students of different semesters.
• Books are issued to 5th & 6th semester students for competitive examinations.
• Books are also issued to the ex-students of the department for competitive examinations.

2. Regular Class Assessment

Department organizes regular class tests for Hons & Gen students since the introduction of CBCS.

3. Special Coaching Classes for UGC NET/SET Examination

A 7 days orientation course was organized in the last year for the final year Hons. students as a support for appearing in the NET/SET entrance.

4. Faculty Exchange Programme

Faculty Exchange Programme was organized with Nabagram Hiralal Paul College in collaboration with IQAC on 15th May, 2023.

5. Add-on-course

Add-on-course on Data Analysis & Data Management jointly with Dept. of Mathematics is going on from 6th Dec,2023.
